Being from a generation where football is watched in every part of the world , he has shown incredible live to consistence for the past decade. Both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will forever be considered the best to have played the game. Tho the debate between Messi and Ronaldo will never end. Both set of fans have their own opinion why their idol is the greatest. So, i decided to list out the reasons why is Lionel Messi best in the world

5) Lionel Messi's Vision
So we start of the list with one of Lionel Messi's best attribute in football i.e. his vision. By being part of La Masia he improved his natural vision to nearly perfection. We can see so many videos of Messi and realize his vision is nearly pitch perfect. He can literally lob a ball from one end to other end and the player will find the ball at his feat. Usually his vision is the key for every Barcelona and Argentina attack. We have seen many times him considered to be the best player on the pitch even without scoring or assisting. The reason for this is simple, he see the game differently than others. In those type of matches he usually starts the attack and draws the defence towards himself , which in turn opens up the defence for attack.4) Lionel Messi's Ball Control
This is the one part of his game that even an ardent supporter of any other player can't deny. His ball control is next to god. Even at top speed he somehow manages to have the ball stick to his feet . This makes it so difficult for defenders to stop him , as he gives them no chance to take the ball away without tackling him. This has been quoted by one of the greatest defender of all time Paolo Maldini in 2010 "The ball stays glued to his foot; I’ve seen great players in my career, but I’ve never seen anyone with Messi's ball control." The attribute of Messi is one of the many reasons why defenders hate defending against him.

Imagine having that good a ball control and with that great dribbling ability , then it would be terrifying to defend against Messi. Jerome Boateng reflected on Messi's goal against Bayern in 2014/2015 Champions league semi final and said "That fall didn't really affect me,I was laughing at myself, too! ". In this list we are not going to talk about his scoring too much and concentrate on his play making ability. Since Messi is such a prolific goal scorer that everyone undermines his play making ability. For example this season he has scored 23 goals and has 11 assists to his name, but people will look only at his goals. Kevin de Bruyne is being hailed this season for his creativity but Leo is not. This playmaking aspect of Messi is his single greatest attribute. When he realizes that he or his team are not able to break teams up then he shifts in a deep role and tries to create chances for his teammates. For people who don't know Lionel Messi has 123 assists in Laliga which is the most assists in Laliga history. This part of Lionel Messi game is the single greatest threat for any team.

This is the main point why Lionel messi is considered the best in the world. For over 10 years he has been at the top of his game. People thought he might be another Rooney or Michael Owen who peaked at an early age. But it was not the case no one know what this man's peak is. He has won 5 ballon d'or in last 10 years and also been voted the second best in the other five. The only true poor form he has shown at the end of 2012-2013 season. This was also due to the fact of a thigh injury he suffered. It is hard to imagine Messi dropping form. The way he plays, he will soon shift to midfield and dictate game from there.
Just by looking into the above stats , Messi can be considered great but to understand his greatest truly we need to watch him play. We need to cherish the fact that we are able to witness create history with a ball at his feet .
