Here are Premier League GW8 Preview
1) Leicester City vs Stoke city
This is a match which has more importance to Stoke rather than Leicester. Currently sitting at 8 in the premier league with 35 points, Leicester are very comfortable and a victory will help them in getting close to the Europa League spot. Stoke have a different story. A victory is needed for them. Currently sitting at 19th in the table with 25 points, every point is important for them. The main problem for Stoke have been their defence. They have considered 53 goals in 27 matches so far. That is roughly 2 per game and that is the key reason for the bad performances. While they have only scored 27 goals in 27 matches is also a problem. But the fact is simple if a team concedes 2 goals per match then it will be hard for the attacker to get 3 in those matches. Leicester are currently winless in last 3 premier league match. They need this victory as much as Stoke do. They are currently 9 points away relegation zone. But the fact remains a loss here can create a lot of pressure on them, even tho the chances of it is very unlikely.
Prediction: Leicester defeat Stoke
2)West Brom vs Huddersfield
This is the battle of relegation. West Brom are currently 20th in the league 8 points away from safety. Huddersfield are currently 17th one point above relegation. It is a must win for both the team. West Brom winning will help the teams moral and make them hope that they can survive this season. While Huddersfield, don't want to end the dream of playing in Premier League. A win for West Brom will make no difference as they will still stay 20th. They will be hoping other relegation battling team lose their matches. While for Huddersfield a win means they can get up the table to the 13th position, while a loss can take them down to 19th.
Prediction: Huddersfield defeat West Brom
3)Bournemouth vs Newcastle
Very simply it is a very important match for Rafa and his Newcastle. Newcastle are flying high after defeating United last week. A victory against Bournemouth will ease pressure of getting relegated. They might be 13th in the league, but are just 2 points above relegation. The big problem with Newcastle is that they can't score too much. If Bournemouth gets an early lead then it is tough to believe Newcastle will score 2 goals and win the match. A loss here can make Newcastle fall as low as 18th in the league. Bournemouth are in a mixed spot as well. They are currently 10th in the league , but are just 5 points above relegation. It would be highly unlikely that they will get relegated tho. The players just need to focus and take this match as a relegation battle. A victory against Newcastle, will make them more stable and will be expected to finish in the top half in the league.
Prediction : Bournemouth defeats Newcastle
4)Liverpool vs West Ham
This match looks like a one way traffic. Liverpool's attack will be eagerly waiting for this match. West Ham are fighting to avoid relegation and this match is important for it. Liverpool has had a tendency to lose to weaker teams. David Moyes nearly stopped City's winning streak, by a defencive show. If West Ham can do the same against Liverpool and nick a goal, they that will be an unexpected and excellent result for them. Liverpool, need to win these matches. They are currently 3rd in the league, but a loss or a draw can take them out of the top 4. After the display against Porto in Champions League, it will be very difficult to believe that West Ham can take anything out of this match. With Salah in a red hot form, it looks like goal feast for Liverpool.
Prediction: Liverpool defeats West Ham
5)Brighton vs Swansea City
Another relegation battle. Both teams can't afford to lose points. It is hard to bet against Swansea due to their recent form. They have not lost a match, in their past 10 matches in all competition. They have wins against Arsenal and Liverpool as well. With the form they are showing it will he hard to except them to lose the match. Brighton on the other hand are not consistent enough. It is hard to bet against Swansea in this one.
Prediction: Swansea City defeats Brighton
6)Burnley FC vs Southampton
Burnley has one of the best defence in premier league this season. They have even held City to a 1-1 draw earlier this month. It is hard to expect Southampton would be able to break this defence. Southampton are in relegation fight, they will need to show more will in order to get a result out of Burnley. A draw won't be a bad result, but i think Burnley will see this one of comfortably.
7)Watford vs Everton
Both team are looking safe and will look to win and finish at the top half of the table. After a disappointing 5-1 defeat to Arsenal, they came back and defeated Crystal Palace 3-1. Watford in the other hand are coming after a loss. A draw won't be such a bad result for both the teams. Everton had spend a lot of money this season. They will hope to go to Europa League atleast next season. A victory against Watford, will help to achieve that objective.
Prediction: Watford draw Everton
8)Crystal Palace vs Tottenham
After a 2-2 draw against Rochdale , Tottenham will be looking to give a good comeback. A victory for both the lineup is important, they are in the opposite end of the spectrum. Palace needs to win to get further away from relegation battle, while Tottenham to create pressure and get into the top 4. A defeat can make Spurs drift as much as 4 points from the top 4. While a win will surly get them into the top 4. As for Crystal Palace it is a hard position. A draw against Tottenham will be a good result as any 3 teams can get relegate out of the last 10 in premier league. A point in this match is not a bad result, if they can get it. Harry Kane has been in unbelievable form this season and he along with Eriksen can rip Palace apart. It is hard to see any other result than a Spurs win.
Prediction: Tottenham defeats Crystal Palace
9)Manchester United vs Chelsea
This is the battle of heavyweights. Both team are having inconsistent form. A victory for anyone, can be a big step to finish in the top 4. United currently sit 2nd 3 points above Chelsea and a victory can look as a major boost to a team lacking confidence. Chelsea, would want to keep the moment going from their champions league game against Barcelona. This is a good test for them and if they win they will feel that they will finish in the top 4 this season. It is also a battle of two managers, who have talked trash about each other in ever press-conference . Mourinho will love nothing more than defeating Conte , while Conte will be fighting for pride and let everyone know who good a manger he is.
Prediction: Manchester United defeats Chelsea
10)Arsenal vs Manchester City
The premier league leader travel to Arsenal.With Arsenal 8 points behind top 4 this match does not look that important. For a entertaining value, it might be but overall impacting the league, it does not. Pep will hope to demolish Arsenal at their home to send a statement to every club in Europe that they are the real deal. While for Wenger a victory will give a bit of belief to the fans. Arsenal cant thing that they won't finish in top 4 and need to keep making pressure on them. A victory against City can get them as close as 5 points away from top 4. City are the favourites in the match, but you never know which Arsenal they might go against. This game can have any result from 5-0 victory for city to a 3-2 victory for Arsenal. It would be a cracker of a match.
Prediction: Manchester City defeats Arsenal
