Newcastle vs Manchester United Review

Newcastle vs Manchester United was looking to be a routine victory for Manchester United. A Newcastle team who has not won a home match since October going against the all mighty United. But somehow everything went wrong for Manchester United in this match and at the end Newcastle picked up a deserving victory.

Manchester United started this match with Paul Pogba back into the starting lineup. Paul Pogba either due to some injury or something didn't want to play in the match itself. In the first half only David De Gea ran lesser than Pogba. This was the start to a big problem as it looked like united was playing with 1 less midfielder. The main problem that Manchester United had in this match was the fact that the lost the midfield battle to Newcastle. Jonjo Shelvey was one of the best player in the match and deserves to get his recognition for his performance. If you look at Jonjo's face by the end of the match you would have seen a guy who gave his all in the match. While Jonjo was excellent i felt their keeper Martin Dubravka was simply outstanding. On his first match for Newcastle , he should that he is a top draw keeper. His one-on-one save against Martial in the first half was brilliant. While at the last seconds of the match he saved another goal scoring opportunity from United. His composer on the match was the key. He did not get carried away with the weight of the match and played beautifully well. Ritchie's first goal of the season came when Lejeune and Dwight Gayle flicked on Shelvey's deep free-kick for the unmarked Scot to finish. It was a goal which was not mourinho's fault. His teams are very well defensively organised. It has been the players problem and they need to take responsibility for that goal.

Overall the best player for united was De gea . He saved United in more than once . This tells how bad united was. When your keeper is the best player in a losing cause, then something is wrong. All can be said is United needs to forget this loss and concentrate on Champions League. This sort of a performance should not be repeated against Sevilla or they will have to pay for it. With the attacking talent at united's disposal they should score against anytime. With just 2 points ahead of Liverpool, they need to treat all the remaining 11 matches as do or die and try to win all of them to remain 2nd . The only way Manchester United can have a good season is by finishing 2nd , doing well in the knockout of champions league. If United somehow wins the FA Cup then they will have something to look forward for next season.
